Although it may seem a fairly simple process, this decision of creating a family using a donor’s eggs, sperm or embryo will have a significant impact on everyone involved, including the recipient, the donor and the child who is born as a result of the donation.

Types of Donar Programs ?

Donor sperm, eggs or embryos give some couples or single women their only chance of having a baby. Prevoir Hospital has over 10 years’ experience helping women and couples access donor sperm, eggs and embryos to create their family.

Egg Donation :

Egg donation is an incredible gift, and can help someone achieve their dreams of parenthood.For women who are unable to conceive using their own eggs, using donor eggs can offer their only chance to have a baby.

Sperm Donation :

In sperm donation, the female patient will use her own eggs and use donated sperm from a third-party (eligible family member/friend or de-identified screened donor).

Embryo Donation :

In IVF, some patients may create more embryos than they need. These patients have the option to donate their embryos to another woman/couple to achieve pregnancy.

Most Common Questions

Who can be an egg donor?

Family members, friends or acquaintances: women who are known to the recipient (the mother)
De-identified clinic recruited screened donors: women who are unknown to the recipient at the time of treatment but who are willing to release identifying information to a donor-conceived person in the future. These donors are also termed ‘open identity’ donors.

Who can be a sperm donor?

Aged 18-45
No history of genetic disease or hereditary condition. Donors will not be accepted if they suffer from an illness, disease or genetic condition that poses an unacceptable risk of being passed on to any child conceived from the donation
Have a low risk of contracting STDs and HIV/AIDS
Can provide a family medical history
Willing to sign a lifestyle declaration form
If married or in a de facto relationship, partner must consent to the donation.

Who can be an embryo donor?

Individuals and couples of all ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds can become embryo donors. This includes individuals and couples of all different heights, shapes and sizes, as long as they meet prerequisites.

Who requires donor eggs?

For some recipients, donor eggs offer the only chance they have to turn their dreams of motherhood into a reality. There are many reasons why recipients need donor eggs to have a baby, including:

Premature menopause.
Unable to use their own eggs due to genetic causes.
Repeatedly unsuccessful using the IVF program.
Born without ovaries.
Undergone treatment for cancer.

Who requires donor sperm?

Donated sperm is needed by a diverse range of people for a variety of reasons, such as heterosexual couples who are incapable of falling pregnant naturally as a consequence of male infertility, which can be the result of genetic and infectious causes or physical damage. Some men are simply unable to produce sperm, making it impossible to conceive with their partner.
